Call for abstracts

Prospective authors are invited to their submit abstracts in a ONE-PAGE pdf-file by using the SAW Symposium 2026 abstract template. The deadline is May 29, 2026. Abstracts must be submitted to abstracts@saw-symposium.com (details below).
Contributions are solicited either for oral presentations (10 min talk / 5 min discussion) or for posters relating to one of the following subject areas:

  • Concepts, designs and materials for SAW sensors & SAW actuators
  • SAW sensors for physical, chemical or biological applications
  • SAW gas sensors
  • SAW sensors for harsh environment
  • SAW sensors for condition monitoring
  • Industrial deployments of SAW sensors
  • SAW/RFID applications
  • Novel concepts for peripheral components (antennae, readers, packaging, …)
  • SAW based microfluidics
  • SAW driven atomizers

Authors are required to concisely divide their abstracts into the header and the following three sections. Abstracts must not exceed ONE PAGE including one figure.
The use of SAW Symposium 2026 abstract template is strongly recommended.

Abstract submission

Abstract submission is open between April 13 and May 29, 2026. Please email your abstract as a ONE-Page pdf-file to abstracts@saw-symposium.com
All submitted abstracts will be carefully evaluated and accepted authors will be notified.

Publication information:
With the submission of the abstract, the author confirms to agree, that his personal data will be stored and processed for reasons of author information and symposium organisation. Furthermore he agrees, that the presentation file will be accessible to the public after the symposium in electronic form.

Presenter information

** General information **
Please note the following instructions for preparing your presentation. The main idea of the SAW Symposium is to create a platform for the exchange of ideas between academia and industry in the field of SAW-based sensor and actuator technology. Please note that for this reason your abstract and presentation will be made available to attendees as a download after the conference (unless you specify otherwise).

** Guidelines for Oral Presentation **
- The total time allotted to each regular speaker is 15 minutes, 10 minutes for the presentation and 5 minutes for discussion (Q&A).
- Keynote speakers are given 30 min in total for their presentation, including discussion.
- Suggested presentation format is PowerPoint PPTX (or PDF) with screen size 16:9. All fonts not included in standard windows installation must be embedded into the presentation file.
- SAW Symposium provides a computer equipped with Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat Reader for presentation, necessary audio-visual equipment, laser pointer and video projector for the oral sessions.
- Presentation not uploaded prior to conference must be copied to conference laptop no later than the break before the session.

** Guidelines for Poster Presentation **
SAW Symposium 2026 features a special Poster Presentation Flash Talk Session in order to promote visibility of poster presentations to all participants.
- Each poster presenter will present his/her poster in a short talk of maximum 2 minutes and 1 slide (without questions and answers).
- Please use the attached flash talk template to prepare this one slide presentation showing:
– Poster title
– Authors and affiliation
– Motivation / Purpose of your contribution
– Description of the approach
– Innovation of this approach
– Achieved results of your work
- Poster Presentation Flash Talks are intended to be given live by a registered author.
- In order to avoid technical problems on-site, flash talk presentations should be uploaded for pre-checking.
- Presentation not uploaded prior to conference must be copied to conference laptop no later than the break before the session.
- All poster contributions are to be defended by the author during the poster session.
- Poster print-out size is ISO A0 (i.e. 841 mm x 1189 mm), orientation is portrait.

- Poster print-outs are displayed during the whole symposium to allow for additional discussion. Please hang your poster on the poster board on Thursday morning. Poster boards and adhesive tape will be provided.
